Auburn gets a gem in Diamond

ESPNU 150 offensive tackle Jordan Diamond (Chicago/Simeon) signed with Auburn Friday night. Arkansas, Michigan and Wisconsin were his other finalists. Ohio State was in the mix earlier in the process.

The four-star prospect took all five allotted official visits to Columbus (Dec. 9), The Plains (Dec. 16), Ann Arbor (Jan. 13), Fayetteville (Jan. 20) and Madison (Jan. 27).

Arizona, Florida State, Northwestern, Indiana, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Miami-FL, Oregon and Tennessee also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-6, 295-pound senior.

Diamond may not be the last addition to Auburn's 2012 class, which was ranked No. 17 in the nation by ESPNU on national signing day. Four-star guard Alex Kozan (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Valor Christian), who verballed to Iowa on Jan. 30 but did not sign, is still considering the Tigers. Athlete Stefon Diggs (Olney, Md./Good Counsel), the No. 13 prospect in the ESPNU 150, also still has Auburn on his list.
