2013 RB Isaac calls ND-USC game 'special'

Blue-chip junior running back Ty Isaac (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) has been to Notre Dame almost 10 times, but none of those games compared to this past Saturday’s.

“This one was totally different -- it’s Notre Dame-USC,” said Isaac, who already holds a Notre Dame offer. “It was nothing like the others.”

It’s a short trip East along Interstate 80 from Joliet to South Bend, so Isaac was able to arrive relatively early for the game and take in the scene.

“There was a lot of people. It was electric, a great atmosphere, and a good game for the most part,” he said.

Even though Isaac thoroughly enjoyed his trip, he is in no rush to make any decisions. He will have many more offers come his way over the next year, and he plans on evaluating each school that offers.

That doesn’t mean Notre Dame didn’t make an impression on him, though.

“It’d be a great place to play obviously," he said. "There’s a lot of tradition. It was definitely something special. You don’t get to see many games like that.”

With the playoffs beginning on Friday, Isaac isn’t sure if he’ll get out to any more games before his high school season ends. He doesn’t have any plans to visit any schools or check out any games the next few weeks.

“If there’s any time I will try to get out to a couple more,” Isaac said, “but obviously the playoffs are more important.”

Isaac holds nine offers, the most recent coming from Vanderbilt. Michigan and Wisconsin have also offered.
