Iowa continues to rack up the recruits in the month of April as the Hawkeyes landed recruit No. 7 Friday.
Three-star outside linebacker John Kenny (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) committed to Iowa over Arizona and Indiana, he told ESPN.com in a text message.
Kenny visited Iowa for its spring game April 14 and was thoroughly impressed with everything he saw in Iowa City.
"The most impressive thing was the people and how real they were with you," Kenny said in an interview Wednesday before his commitment. "Coach [Kirk] Ferentz is awesome and [assistant] coach [Eric] Johnson has always been real good to me. Their linebacker coach [LeVar Woods], I didn't talk to him much but he was awesome, too. He played in the NFL and played linebacker at Iowa, too."
The Hawkeyes now have seven commitments in their 2013 class, and all seven have come during the month of April. He is the second commitment from Indiana, joining four-star defensive end David Kenney III (Indianapolis/Pike), who got the ball rolling for the Iowa class on April 4.
