INDIANAPOLIS -- This weekend’s game against Michigan is a big 2013 recruiting weekend for Notre Dame, but some of the Midwest’s top 2014 prospects will be on hand as well.
Count linebacker Brandon Lee (Indianapolis/Lawrence Central) among those attending Saturday’s game.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Lee will be making his second visit up to Notre Dame, and he will have his eye on Manti Te’o and the rest of the Fighting Irish’s linebackers.
“See how they play and watch my position and the coaching,” Lee said he is most looking forward.
Lee was in South Bend earlier this year for a camp at Notre Dame, and he said he performed well there. The Irish staff liked what it saw from Lee, and he is definitely on the team’s radar.
Notre Dame told Lee, who already has five offers, to be patient about a scholarship.
“They said give it some time and let it play throughout the season,” Lee said. “I’m sure (Lawrence Central) Coach [Jayson] West will send them my film.”
On his first visit, the tradition and academics stood out most to Lee.
“It’s one of the top 10 schools in the U.S. in academics,” he said.
