Three-star receiver Wesley Thomas (South Bend, Ind./Clay) has taken a few visits recently to BCS schools, and now he has his eye on setting up some official visits.
Over the last few weeks, Thomas has visited both Illinois and Indiana. The Fighting Illini are one of Thomas’ four offers and lone BCS offer.
“I had fun. The game day experience wasn’t the best I’ve seen but it was good,” said Thomas, who also was in Champaign for the Illini’s spring game.
Indiana was the other school to host Thomas for a visit. He visited with teammate Shakir Carr, and Thomas said the Hoosiers told him they will evaluate his film. He sent his senior highlight to Indiana on Tuesday.
Ball State and Indiana are two teams Thomas is still hearing from that have yet to offer the 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect, who registered 700 yards on 48 catches as a senior.
Central Michigan, Northern Illinois and Toledo are Thomas’ other offers, and he wants to officially visit Central Michigan and Toledo along with Indiana if it offers.
Thomas is a fan of the Central Michigan coaching staff, and at Toledo, he believes he can thrive in coach Matt Campbell’s offense.
“I think they have a good program and I can fit into the offense,” Thomas said.
Three programs are at the top of Thomas’ list.
“Central Michigan and probably Indiana if they offer and Toledo,” he said.
