Solomon Warfield ready to arrive in Iowa

Solomon Warfield (Lakewood, Ohio/St. Edward) finally made his official visit to Iowa.

“Things went really good. I got to talk to players this time -- the younger players, older players, see the difference and experience,” Warfield said. “It was a real good trip.”

Warfield, a three-star prospect and No. 36 safety nationally, spent time with freshman Sean Draper, who is from nearby Cleveland Glenville.

“They said everything is a big transition from high school to college. Everything is faster. You get more and bigger workloads,” he said. “It’ll be hard my first year but if we work, we’ll be fine.”

The Iowa coaches are looking for Warfield to contribute early on special teams and possibly safety.

“They said I’d be able to come in and do some special teams. Talking to the coaches, he said I’d be playing some strong safety,” Warfield said. “He said there’s a good chance if I’m good enough and able to play that I will play as a freshman.”

It is the only official visit Warfield will be taking.

“I don’t have any more questions,” he said. “It’s good to know everything.”
