Tulane lands local lineman

Offensive guard Brandon Godfrey (River Ridge, La./John Curtis Christian) is on board with the Green Wave, according to the Times-Picayune.

Godfrey also held scholarship offers from Memphis and McNeese State. Minnesota, Houston, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, SMU and TCU showed interest.

His brother Jerry was a three-year starter along the offensive line for Tulane in the 1990's.

“Tulane just stood out to me,’’ Godfrey said. “Tulane has always been appealing to me since my brother (Jerry) attended Tulane. I attended my first Tulane game at five-months-old, so I was born and raised around Tulane football. I always wanted to play where my brother played, so I went to Curtis and now Tulane.’’

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound prospect is commitment No. 4 in 2013 for the Green Wave.
