OG puts Msgr. Donovan on the map

Virginia has received a verbal commitment from three-star offensive guard Brad Henson Jr. (Toms River, N.J./Monsignor Donovan), according to multiple sources.

Boston College, Connecticut, East Carolina, Miami (Fla.), Rutgers, South Carolina, UCF, West Virginia and Wisconsin also offered the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder.

Henson Jr.'s commitment is a big deal for Monsignor Donovan, a small school without a strong football tradition. His high school coach Dan Duddy told the Star-Ledger:

"Brad has set the tone for us the past four years. He's inspiring his peers to go to college. We have a lot more recruits in our building because of what he is doing. Our kids are getting bigger and stronger because of Brad's leadership."

The Cavaliers now have 15 commitments for the Class of 2013.
