Scouts: Latham could see early action

Wisconsin was fairly young on the interior of the defensive line last season so the Badgers have brought in few defensive tackles in the last two classes, but they are starting to address that position again and just landed a verbal from their second DT prospect in this class.

Their most recent verbal comes from Darius Latham (Indianapolis/North Central), a nice pickup out of Indiana. The ESPN 300 defender could move around the D-line some for Wisconsin, but he is a big kid with room to still add some more size and will settle in as more of a tackle in their scheme. He needs to be more consistent with his technique, but he shows the tools to develop into a stout run defender for them. He can also provide pressure as a pass rusher as he can be violent with hands and does a good job of attacking half-a-man and with some polish could be a nice interior pass rusher for the Badgers.

Latham needs to continue to develop his game, but he is a big kid with some good physical ability who could potentially work his way into the rotation as a freshman if needed.
