Houston lands quick DT Mark

Three-star defensive tackle Tomme Mark (Lufkin, Texas) confirmed Wednesday that he has verbally committed to play for Houston.

Mark, a 6-foot-2, 260-pounder with 4.77 speed in the 40-yard dash, chose Houston over several offers from schools nationwide. Mark said Utah, Missouri and Kansas were the schools on his final list.

Mark also was offered by Michigan State, SMU, Arkansas and others, and he received interest from Texas, Texas A&M and TCU. Mark is Houston's 20th commitment and sixth three-star prospect. Mark also is the Cougars' third commit of the week, joining three-star offensive tackle Aviante Collins (Houston, Texas/Willowridge) and three-star defensive tackle Marrick Charles (Destrehan, La.).
