UCLA’s 2013 class already consisted of commitments from several offensive line prospects and this weekend they added another with a verbal from Under Armour All-American Scott Quessenberry (Carlsbad, Calif./La Costa Canyon).
The No. 2-rated center is a prospect who needs to keep adding size to his frame and improving strength, but demonstrates the physical tools needed to be a very good center. We also like the competitiveness and nastiness he displays. Quessenberry doesn’t play center fulltime at this stage, but has experience at the position and with time to focus his reps in that role should greatly aid his development.
It is not an overly strong center class in 2013, but with the addition of the Under Armour All-American the Bruins picked up one of the more promising prospects at the position.
