Two-star safety Mycial Allen (Detroit/Martin Luther King) committed Monday to play for Northern Illinois following an official visit over the weekend, multiple sources report.
Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Iowa, Memphis and Miami (Ohio) also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot, 185-pound senior. Illinois, Indiana and Michigan State showed some interest.
ESPN says of the No. 105-rated safety, "Allen flashes production as a receiver and defensive back; displays good foot quickness but appears quicker than fast, lacking big-time playing speed."
The Huskies now hold 13 pledges for 2013.
