Dontavian Lee says yes to MSU

Class of 2014 running back Dontavian Lee (Brooklyn, Miss./Forrest County Agricultural) committed Friday to sign with the in-state Mississippi State Bulldogs, multiple sources report.

Mississippi State is Lee's only scholarship offer at this time. Ole Miss and Southern Miss also recruited the 6-foot, 205-pound prospect.

Lee spoke with the Clarion-Ledger about his decision, citing a few major factors:

"She [Lee's mother] really liked [Mississippi State]. And I really liked it, too. My mom is a really big influence on me. Up there it feels like a family and I can really relate to everyone."

He continued, "Every top running back wants to play in the SEC. It's the top conference in America. For me to stay close to home, that's a plus, too."

Lee rushed for 1,392 yards and 13 touchdowns last season despite being sidelined for three contests.

He joins ESPN 150 athlete Jamoral Graham (Decatur, Miss./Newton County) and three-star receiver Nikia Cathey (Memphis, Tenn./Westwood) on Mississippi State's 2014 commit list.
