The Wisconsin Badgers picked up a commitment Thursday night from Sunshine State safety Austin Hudson (Tampa, Fla./Plant), Madison.com reports.
Florida Tech, Holy Cross and Jacksonville State also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-2, 186-pound prospect. Pittsburgh, Purdue and Stanford showed interest, according to multiple sources.
"I love the coaches and I love the faith the coaches put in me and believed in me. How much they wanted me was definitely a factor," he said. "As well as the academics. It's a great school. It's a great campus life. The fans are crazy; they're like the best fans in America."
Hudson, who hopes to graduate from high school early, added, "It was something I was incredibly sure about. There was no other place for me, except for Wisconsin. It is the whole package."
The Badgers have 10 players on board for 2014.
