The 6-foot-4, 203-pound athlete chose the Gamecocks over offers from Miami, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Louisville and Kentucky, among many others.
Googer, with his size and athleticism, could play a number of positions in college.
"Googer is a great looking prospect, to say the least," his RecruitingNation scouting report reads. "Splits his time between quarterback and wide receiver and will most likely end up as a jumbo WR/H-back. Frame and athletic ability give this player a huge upside despite his lack of a natural position. But for those in a spread option, heavy QB run scheme he shows real upside under center."
Googer is the 18th ranked player from the talent-rich state of Georgia and the No. 206-ranked player in the country.
For South Carolina, the Gamecocks now have 13 verbal commitments, including five who are listed in the ESPN 300.
