UA Game jersey tour: Quin Blanding

Five-star safety Quin Blanding (Virginia Beach, Va./Bayside High) was presented his honorary 2014 Under Armour All-America High School Football game jersey Sept. 4.

Blanding, a Virginia commitment, is one of 90 players selected to compete in the seventh-annual Under Armour All-America Game, which will be nationally televised at 4 p.m. ET on Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. on ESPN.

"I just want to thank Bayside, all my family, my friends and especially my teammates for being there with me through everything; and showing me all the love and support," said Blanding. "So this is for you, and I'm just going to go out there and do my thing. I would also like to thank Under Armour for selecting me in this game. It's just and honor to be represented and follow the people that also played here."

For Blanding, being selected to play in the Under Armour All-America Game is a culmination of years of hard work.

"It's just an honor to know that all my hard work has paid off. My mom and my dad always told me to keep working hard and good things will happen," he said.

Playing in the game with lifelong friend and fellow Virginia commitment Andrew Brown will be a highlight.

"Andrew Brown, that's like my brother for real. We grew up together with the same families, playing on the same teams … we are really close." He said.

The 6-foot-2, 209-pound Blanding is the No. 10 ranked prospect in the ESPN 300, and the No. 1 safety. He becomes the third player from Bayside High to compete in the Under Armour All-America Game, following 2013 NFL first-round draft pick E.J. Manuel and Virginia cornerback Demetrious Nicholson.
