Senior football player Nick Reinhardt (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame Prep) was presented his honorary game jersey Thursday during the American Family Insurance Selection Tour for the 2014 Under Armour All-America High School Football Game. The event was part of a three-month selection tour.
Reinhardt, a snapping specialist, is one of 90 players selected to compete in the seventh annual Under Armour All-America Game, a nationally televised game featuring the country’s top high school seniors. The game is set for 4 p.m. ET Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., and will be televised on ESPN.
“First of all, I want to thank American Family Insurance and Under Armour for coming out,” Reinhardt said. “I also wanted to thank my teammates, coaches and friends and family for supporting me. I especially want to thank my parents and snapping coach, who couldn’t be here tonight, Ben Benard. Without them, I wouldn’t be here.”
The chance to go to Florida and Disney World made the game appealing to Reinhardt.
"I thought it would be a really cool experience to go to the Under Armour All-America Game and meet new people. I am mostly looking forward to meeting new friends, meeting the coaches, and I've never been to Florida, so that will be a really cool experience, too."
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Renhardt is the No. 5 deep snapper in 2014 class.
