UA Game jersey tour: Will Ulmer

Senior athlete Will Ulmer (Washington/St. John’s College High) was presented his honorary game jersey Friday at his school during the American Family Insurance Selection Tour for the 2014 Under Armour All-America High School Football Game. The event was part of a three-month tour.

Ulmer, a Maryland commitment, is one of 90 players selected to compete in the seventh annual Under Armour All-America Game, a nationally televised game spotlighting the country’s top high school seniors. The game is set for 4 p.m. ET Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., and will be televised on ESPN.

“First, I want to thank everyone for coming out today,” Ulmer said. “It’s a pleasure. I want to thank God for everything. I want to thank my teammates, thank my parents, thank my family and thank all my coaches.”

St. John’s coach Joe Patterson says his star player will play wherever needed.

“He was selected as an athlete for the game, so I’m not exactly sure what position he will end up playing, but it shouldn’t matter. He’s going to play any position the same way, which is full speed with a lot of fun. I think he has the potential to change the game from any position.”

Ulmer, who attends the same high school as Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank once did, is excited for the opportunity showcase his skill at the game.

"I'm really excited to get down to the Under Armour All-America Game, showcase my skill, ball out and do what I do best. It's an honor to be invited to the Under Armour All-America Game. It's a dream come true, and it's something I've been hoping for over the last four years.”

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Ulmer is a four-star prospect and the No. 47 ranked athlete in the class. He committed to Maryland over Arizona State, Arizona, Nebraska, Rutgers, N.C. State, North Carolina and others.
