ESPN 300 running back Todd Sibley received his Under Armour All-America Game jersey Friday in a presentation sponsored by American Family Insurance.
“It’s a true honor and blessing,” said Sibley. “The alumni and all the great players that have come through this game is crazy, and to be a part of that family is nothing but a blessing. It means the world to be apart of the UA family, and it’s an honor I will never forget.”
After finishing his senior year, Sibley will head to Pittsburgh. The fit both on the field and academically was a difference maker in Sibley’s decision.
"I felt like Pitt gave me the best chance to succeed on and off the field. Coach [Pat] Narduzzi is building a great program. I think that with Pitt, there is nothing I can’t do or achieve both on and off the field with the chance to play in the NFL one day.”
Five questions with Todd Sibley:
What players are you looking forward to competing with or against at the Under Armour All America game?
"Dylan Moses. This is an amazing athlete, and I’m a huge fan of him as a person. I’ve known about him since I was in the 8th grade and spent time with him at Future50 last year and he’s a great guy.”
What is your earliest football memory?
"I was eight years old. It was my first play ever in little league. I was playing receiver and during the play my helmet got knocked off and went flying. I started crying, and my mom ran out onto the field. That is where the dream started.”
If you could take on any professional athlete in their sport, who would it be?
"That would be Luke Kuechly for the Carolina Panthers. I know I would physically get murdered, but the excitement would push me through it.”
What number do you wear, and why?
"I wear 23, the same number that Arian Foster wears. We have a similar story. Everybody told him he would never play in the NFL, and everyone tells me I will never play in the NFL, so that number has meaning for him, and me.”
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
"People would definitely be surprised that I listen to Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry. A lot of people don’t know that I listen to that type of music, but I like it.”
The 2017 Under Armour All-America Game will be played on January 1 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla., on ESPN with practices televised on ESPNU during the week.
