UA jersey tour: Four-star LB Ellis Brooks

Linebacker Ellis Brooks received his Under Armour All-America Game jersey Wednesday in a presentation sponsored by American Family Insurance at Benedictine College prep in Richmond, Virginia.

“It means that all my hard work on and off the field is paying off, and I'm receiving the fruits of my labor which people are noticing and that's very exciting,”

The one time Duke commitment is taking the recruiting process very slow the second time around.

“I have not officially visited anywhere yet and I'm still figuring out where my official visits are going be, which more time will be dedicated to after the season,”

When the dust does settle and official visits are set up, Maryland and Michigan are expected to be on the list.

Five questions with Ellis Brooks:

What players are you looking forward to competing with or against at the Under Armour All America game?

"There are no specific players that I'm looking forward to compete against but mainly playing at a different speed and physicality against other top athletes that you randomly see in high school games.”

What is your earliest football memory?

"My earliest football memory is my dad taking me out to little league football when I was 4 but the age limit was 5 and nobody figured out until the first game and I wasn't allowed to play because of it, but I still practiced with the team!”

If you could take on any professional athlete in their sport, who would it be?

"If I can bend the rules and make it a recently retired athlete I'd have to play Kobe because me and my da are both huge fans and it'd be cool to play a legend

What number do you wear, and why?

"I wear the number 4 mainly because it was the lowest number at the time, but after I realized it was ironic how I always try to represent four things out on the field and that's my God, family, friends, and team.”

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

"People would be surprised to know that I'm pretty calm off the field despite my on the field demeanor.”

The 2017 Under Armour All-America Game will be played on January 1 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, on ESPN with practices televised on ESPNU during the week.
