The Blue Raiders signed senior tight end Chris Hale (Dunwoody, Ga.) on Tuesday, according to the Daily News Journal.
Hale was committed to Florida International heading into national signing day, but did not ink with the Golden Panthers. Middle Tennessee has offered Hale the opportunity to walk on to its baseball team, which sealed the deal. Hale plays first base.
Syracuse, Virginia, Central Florida and UAB also extended football scholarship offers to the 6-foot-5, 250-pound prospect.
Hale, who also played basketball in high school, tore a ligament in his left foot last fall and did not play football as a senior. He should be ready for baseball this spring.
With the addition of Hale, the Blue Raiders have now signed 21 players for 2012.
