6-foot-4, 180-pound junior quarterback Ryan Finley (Phoenix/Paradise Valley) committed to sign with Boise State's Class of 2013 on Friday after making an unofficial visit to campus earlier in the week. On Saturday, he spoke with the Idaho Statesman about his decision.
"I was so excited about Boise State when I got home," he said. "I was pretty confident that I wanted to play for Boise State. When I actually got to the campus and met with some coaches and talked with some players and the people around the town, that's when it clicked with me that was definitely a place I wanted to play."
"I really liked what Boise State stands for, coach (Chris Petersen) is one of the best in the country and just the success of their program," he continued. "I also really like their offense, and I can't wait to be part of it."
Arizona, Arizona State, California, Northwestern and UCLA also showed interest, according to Finley.
He completed 239 of 381 attempts (62.7 percent) for 2,911 yards, 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions last fall. Finley also averaged 18 points per game on the hardwood, is the school's No. 1 tennis player, and completes in track and field.
