Pittsburgh coach Paul Chryst picked up his first verbal commitment of the 2013 class.
ESPNU Watch List tight end Scott Orndoff (Pittsburgh/Seton-La Salle) committed to Pitt on Sunday after visiting the nearby campus.
The commitment is not much of a surprise as not only is Pitt the local school but Orndoff was previously committed to Wisconsin. Following a mass exodus of Wisconsin coaches to Pitt, including Chryst, Orndoff reopened his recruitment in February.
The Pitt staff was key in securing Orndoff.
"I'm really comfortable with the coaching staff at Pitt," the 6-foot-5, 240-pound junior wrote via text. "I have faith in coach Chryst and his staff.
"It's definitely the best place for me."
Boston College, Michigan, Michigan State, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin also offered Orndoff.
