N.C. State gets on the board for 2013

Interior offensive line prospect Cole Blankenship has become the first Class of 2013 commitment for North Carolina State, the Winston-Salem Journal reports. He made a visit to campus for the Wolfpack's spring game.

N.C. State was the first program to offer Blankenship. Other programs including Wake Forest, North Carolina, Duke, East Carolina, Clemson, Virginia Tech and Virginia were showing interest.

"He met all the coaches and got a feel for the locker room," Davie County coach Doug Illing said. "He was really impressed. He fell in love with N.C. State and with what he felt about the school."

Blankenship, a 6-foot-3, 285-pounder, earned first team all-state recognition from the Associated Press as a junior.

Wake Forest is now the only ACC program without a commitment for 2013.
