Change of plans for Quinton White

Three-star running back Quinton White (College Station, Texas/A&M Consolidated) has switched his pledge from Tulsa to Texas Tech, according to multiple sources.

“I was nervous, because I didn’t know if Tech was going to offer me,” White told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal . “I’m a smaller running back. I’m not that fast. I originally committed to Tulsa and was pretty solid there. Then I got the offer today and was like, ‘Oh, my gosh. It’s for real.’”

Air Force, Army, Navy, Louisiana Tech, UTEP and Texas-San Antonio also extended scholarship offers for the 5-foot-8, 185-pound senior.

White rushed for 1,201 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior. This fall, he's carried 99 times for 714 yards and seven touchdowns and caught 38 passes for 422 yards and four more scores.

The Red Raiders now have 19 commits in their nationally-ranked Class of 2012.
