Toledo picks up up two verbals

Dual-threat quarterback Javon Harrison (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne) has committed to play in the Mid-American Conference for the Rockets, according to the Toledo Blade.

"I didn't know they had such a big hospital and how great the programs are there," Harrison, who wants to pursue a medical degree, said. "It caught my eye."

Boston College, Ohio, Air Force and Eastern Illinois also offered the 6-foot-1, 208-pound signal-caller. Northwestern, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan State and Cincinnati showed interest.

He threw for 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns and rushed for 700 yards and 19 more scores last fall after replacing current Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller.

Harrison excelled on the Nike Combine circuit this spring posting an electronically-timed 4.72 40-yard dash, 4.3 20-yard shuttle, 27.9-inch vertical and 103.17 SPARQ.

Additionally, 6-foot, 294-pound defensive tackle Marquise Moore (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer), selected his hometown Rockets over an offer from Akron.
