Wide receivers Paul Elvira (Tempe, Ariz./Marcos De Niza) and Nate Phillips (Chandler, Ariz./Basha) received their Arizona offers on the same day, so it was only fitting that both would pull the trigger on the same day.
Elvira said nothing was planned between the two, but Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez will certainly roll with the coincidence.
Arizona was Elvira's first offer and the longtime Wildcats fan couldn't wait more than one week to make the call.
"They've always been my dream school and my No. 1 school," Elvira said. "I was waiting to see if anything else came in, but this morning I woke up and had a little epiphany. I realized I had the chance to play at a school I've always wanted to."
Elvira said Rodriguez was ecstatic upon hearing the news, and the 6-foot, 177-pound receiver was pleased that he could commit alongside Phillips.
"I don't know how that worked out, but I guess it did," he said of the same-day commitments. "I'm happy for us."
