Four-star athlete/running back T.J. Logan (Greensboro, N.C./Northern Guilford) has committed to play in-state for North Carolina, according to the Fayetteville Observer.
Auburn, California, Clemson, North Carolina State, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Wake Forest and West Virginia also extended scholarship offers to the 5-foot-10, 180-pound ball-carrier.
“He has committed to Chapel Hill,’’ Northern Guilford athletic director Brian Thomas said. “With all his options, you couldn’t have blamed him for going elsewhere out of state. But he chose to stay close to home so we can all go watch him play.’’
Logan rushed for 1,072 yards and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore before exploding into the spotlight during a tremendous junior campaign. Last fall, he rushed for 2,468 yards and 38 touchdowns, caught 27 passes for 378 yards and three touchdowns, made 123 tackles, intercepted five passes and averaged 25 yards on kickoff and punt returns.
North Carolina now has 11 pledges for 2013. The Tar Heels' class is currently ranked No. 19 in the nation by ESPN.
