High three-star safety Khari Harding (Edmond, Okla./Santa Fe), like the other 17 Arkansas commits of the 2013 recruiting class, has watched the Razorbacks struggle this season. He, like the other commits, were happy to hear that Arkansas beat Auburn 24-7 on Saturday.
Rather than fully tune in on Saturday, however, Harding spent the day in Lubbock, Texas, on an unofficial visit to Texas Tech. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound safety said he enjoyed the trip and watched the Red Raiders host Oklahoma. He also had a chance to speak in depth with Red Raiders defensive coordinator Art Kaufman.
“The coaches there are real with you,” Harding said. “I was in Coach Kaufman’s office for about 30 minutes. He said he may not have the best athletes, but they get job done. You can tell he’s interested in working hard and doing all that they can do to win.”
Harding said he’s unsure if he wants to make Texas Tech one of his five official visits, but he did express interest in potentially visiting Arizona State and Oregon State. Both Pac-12 schools have offered.
“I’m still committed to [Arkansas], but I’m still looking,” Harding said, “I just want to go out and see how everything is with Arizona State and Oregon State. I want to see how everything works and be with the team for a couple of days, just to see how they operate out there.”
