The first official visit is in the books for three-star running back Dez Wortham (Carrollton, Texas/Hebron), and the first is one that set the bar high for the others of the future.
Wortham visited Kentucky over the weekend, and the 6-foot, 205-pound running back gave the visit high marks. Sophomore safety Glenn Faulker was Wortham’s player host, and he had the chance to visit in depth with his area recruiter Greg Nord and running backs coach Steve Pardue.
Kentucky was Wortham’s only official visit scheduled so far, and he said the other visits to come will have a tough act to follow.
“I really enjoyed myself,” Wortham said. “Thempeople were just so welcoming. The fans were really outgoing.”
Wortham was on hand to watch the Wildcats host undefeated Mississippi State. While Kentucky took a 27-14 loss, Wortham noticed the electricity of the 49,498 in attendance at Commonwealth Stadium. He gave the visit a “9” on a scale of 10.
As for future visits, Wortham said he’s yet to make any final decisions. He has offers from New Mexico, Utah State, Wake Forest, Texas State, Houston, among others.
