According to multiple sources, high three-star TE-H Alexander Montgomery (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay) is no longer committed to Wake Forest. He originally selected the Demon Deacons in June but is now considering other options.
Duke, East Carolina, Florida International, Kentucky, Louisville, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, North Carolina State, Ole Miss, Rutgers, Central Florida and Western Kentucky have also offered.
ESPN said of Montgomery in his evaluation, "We really like this kid's athleticism and versatility. Montgomery is developing, but has tools and could fill many roles. Good, under the radar prospect."
He posted a combine-verified 4.77 40-yard dash, 4.29 20-yard shuttle and 30.5-inch vertical prior to his junior year.
Following Montgomery's departure, three-star wide receiver Tyree Harris (Marietta, Ga.) is now the top-rated pledge for Wake Forest. The Deacons still have 12 players on board for 2013.
