Arizona Western College (Yuma, Ariz.) defensive end Randy Gregory pledged Thursday to join Nebraska's Class of 2013, multiple sources report. Gregory was in Lincoln, Neb., for an official visit over the weekend. Huskers defensive line coach Rick Kaczenski recruited the 6-foot-5, 235-pound prospect.
“It was perfect,” Gregory told the Omaha World-Herald. “It’s the best situation for me. I don't think anybody else can top Nebraska."
Gregory originally signed with Purdue in 2011 out of Hamilton Southeastern High School (Fishers, Ind.). He recommitted to the Boilermakers this June but reopened his recruitment in October.
During this cycle, Gregory picked up scholarship offers from Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Louisville, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon State, Purdue, UCLA, Utah and Washington.
The Cornhuskers have 14 verbals. Three-star defensive end Christian LaCouture (Lincoln, Neb./Southwest) recently decommitted from Nebraska.
