Jaxon Salinas solid with Oklahoma State

News broke late Tuesday that three-star offensive lineman Rami Hammad (Irving, Texas/Irving) switched his commitment from Oklahoma State to Baylor. On Wednesday, when Irving teammate and Oklahoma State pledge Jaxon Salinas was asked how solid he was with his commitment to the Cowboys, he replied with one word.

“Completely,” he said.

A three-star offensive guard, Salinas committed to Oklahoma State on July 23. While he has offers from other programs, Salinas reconfirmed his pledge and said he was ready for Big 12 football in Stillwater, Okla.

“OSU is the place for me,” said Salinas, a 6-foot-3, 291-pound lineman. “I wouldn’t rather be going anywhere else.”

Hammad, who has had Baylor interest since the beginning of his recruiting process, became the Bears’ 20th commitment. Salinas said he and Hammad have talked about the decision, and while Salinas would have enjoyed playing on the same line as his friend and teammate, he understands Hammad’s choice.

“It’s his decision about where he wants to spend the next four, five years, and I respect that,” Salinas said. “He’ll do good things wherever he goes, and I wish him the best of luck.”

Salinas has offers from Rice, Louisiana-Monroe, San Diego State and a few other programs.
