All have Division I college looks and all played a major role in Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic’s 20-13 Division II state semifinal win over Aurora (Ohio).
“They’re a great group,” Fighting Irish coach Greg Dempsey said. “They set this goal back in January. They responded with a lot of heart and mental toughness.”
That toughness has paid dividends for the likes of Perrin, who has interest from Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Michigan State and Nebraska, just to name a few.
Ditto for Edwards, who counts Arkansas, Cincinnati, TCU and West Virginia among his list of suitors.
Throw in Butler -- with interest from North Carolina State, West Virginia and Wisconsin -- as well as Moses, who has offers from Akron and Nebraska, and Central Catholic is filled to the gills with Division I talent.
“With those types of players that’s what has to happen in games like this,” said Dempsey about the semifinal win. “You saw their D-I players step up, you saw our guys stand up. Those are the guys that step up in tough times.”
