Senior cornerback Joshua Okonye (Richmond, Texas/George Ranch), a 6-foot, 183-pound prospect, has committed to sign with Wake Forest, 247Sports reports.
Okonye Tweeted Tuesday, "I officially committed to Wake Forest today @DeacsRecruiting #WF #ACC #GoDeacs #BlackandGold"
Additionally, the top of Okonye's account states, "Grew up with people always telling me that I couldn't achieve my dreams, so I'm on a path to prove them wrong and make my dreams come true #HardworkPaysOff Wake Forest Commit"
This spring, he displayed impressive athleticism on the Nike Combine circuit posting an electronically-timed 4.72 40-yard dash, 4.25 20-yard shuttle, 31.8-inch vertical and 86.97 SPARQ.
Okonye will be evaluated soon by ESPN.
Wake Forest now has 15 total commitments for 2013. Three-star cornerback Brad Watson (Austin, Texas/Westwood) is the only other defensive back and Texan to select the Demon Deacons during this recruiting cycle.
