ESPN 150 defensive lineman Maquedius Bain (Davie, Fla./University School) raved about his trip to Oklahoma after his high school clinched a berth in the Class 3A championship game Friday.
“The Oklahoma visit was just tremendous,” Bain said. “Right away I felt like it was a place I could succeed at. The coaches and players were very easy to talk to and they answered my questions.
“They rallied to beat Oklahoma State and that game was just special. They obviously call it ‘Bedlam’ for a reason because the fans were on fire. Never before have I experienced that sort of atmosphere.”
It was Bain’s second official visit overall. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound senior took a visit to Marshall last month and says his next trip will likely be to LSU.
Before he thinks about the trip to Baton Rouge, however, he has some business to take care of.
“The next thing I’m focused on is winning this state championship,” Bain said. “After we take care of business, I’m ready going to focus on my recruitment.”
Bain originally was going to make his selection at the Under Armour All-America Game, but now it’s likely he will wait until signing day. He is planning to take all five official visits, with Louisville, Michigan State, Alabama and Ole Miss as possible destinations.
