IU lands juco LB Steven Funderburk

Indiana's hot streak on the recruiting trail continued Tuesday with the addition of Iowa Western Community College (Council Bluffs, Iowa) linebacker Steven Funderburk, according to multiple reports.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Funderburk made an official visit to Bloomington, Ind., this weekend. IU co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Mike Ekeler was his primary recruiter.

During this cycle, Funderburk received scholarship offers from Alcorn State, Bethune-Cookman and Florida International.

He originally signed with Tulane in 2010 as a three-star safety prospect out of Port St. Lucie (Fla.) Treasure Coast. ESPN wrote in his high school evaluation, "Funderburk is a versatile defensive back with excellent size and athletic ability. He has good size and speed along with very solid football instincts."

The Hoosiers have 18 players on board for 2013.
