ORLANDO, Fla. -- Three-star linebacker Keith Kelsey Jr. (Gainesville, Fla./Gainesville) has offers from USF, Louisville and Iowa State, but now a few SEC schools are starting to show interest.
The 6-foot-1, 213-pound athlete has scheduled a visit to Louisville and could soon schedule a visit to South Carolina.
"I got Louisville scheduled so far and South Carolina has been recruiting me too, Iowa State and USF has been talking to me too. South Carolina is fixing to offer me. I'd be interested in taking a visit there."
Though Kelsey had an offer from the previous USF coaching staff, the talented linebacker said USF has not been in contact with him since new head coach Willie Taggart took over.
Kelsey, who totaled 14 tackles, including 2.5 for loss, in Gainesville's 37-14 loss to Miami Central in the FHSAA class 6A championship game on Saturday, said that Florida has also been showing more interest in him.
"They've been talking to me a lot lately," Kelsey said. "They've been watching my film and coach [Will] Muschamp likes it a lot. So they are going to call me."
Kelsey said there are a few factors that will play in to his decision.
"Any school that gives me an opportunity to play football and get an education," Kelsey said. "And how early I can play, and if my family can watch me."
Louisville is the only school that has been by for an in-home visit, and Kelsey expects a return visit from the Cardinals' coaching staff.
"I've had a visit from Louisville," he said, "they are going to come again in the next couple of weeks.
Kelsey is undecided on when he will make his final decision.
