Three-star wide receiver Ryan Smith (Las Vegas/Bishop Gorman) has committed to New Mexico, where his father is the running backs coach, multiple sources report.
Smith, who is Nevada's all-time leading receiver with 3,208 yards, chose the Lobos over offers from Colorado State and Utah State.
The 5-foot-7, 160-pound prospect is excited to play for a coaching staff that includes his father, according to the Las Vegas Sun: "It was tough not having him there [during my childhood], but I had to learn to get over it. It feels good actually, because he's only seen a handful of my games."
New Mexico now has 12 commitments for the Class of 2013.
