Quantavius Leslie was supposed to sign a letter of intent with LSU on Wednesday.
That won't happen for the Hinds (Miss.) Community College wide out because he did not graduate at the end of the fall semester as planned, Hinds recruiting coordinator Lee Wilbanks said.
That doesn't mean Wednesday won't be a busy day for Hinds, a team loaded with prospects this season. The Eagles have four players in the ESPN 100 junior college rankings released Tuesday and two players who will sign Tuesday.
Quandarias Mireles, an athlete ranked No. 10 in the ESPN Juco 100, will sign with Ole Miss. Wilbanks said he expects defensive tackle Tedarian Johnson to sign with Kansas today, but he has received late interest from other schools lately, including Texas Tech and Cincinnati.
Leslie will join the late signees and Wilbanks said he wasn't 100 percent sure if LSU was still sold on the 6-foot-4 sophomore, who signed with West Virginia coming out of high school. The plan was for Leslie to join LSU in the spring semester and participate in spring practice.
Leslie caught 24 passes for 517 yards and seven touchdowns in his sophomore season to lead the team in pass reception yards. Mireles caught a team-high 38 passes for 365 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed 47 times for 249 yards in nine games.
