Three-star outside linebacker D'Vante Henry (Moore, Okla./Arizona Western College) committed today to play for West Virginia, multiple sources report. He made an official visit to Morgantown, W.Va., for the weekend of Dec. 7.
Henry, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound prospect, also took official visits to Oregon State and Utah. He traveled to Corvallis, Ore., on Sept. 7 and spent time with the Utes on Nov. 16.
Colorado State, Iowa State, Memphis, Minnesota, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Texas A&M and Texas Tech also extended scholarship offers to Henry.
ESPN calls him, "an intriguing prospect with his length and athleticism but we do not see the 3-4 OLB strength and pass rush skills at this time... more of a developing 4-3 end. He could be a disruptive player if he finds a scheme that caters to his hybrid qualities."
West Virginia has 24 verbals, including five from junior college players, for its 2013 class.
