ESPN 300 RB decommits from Miss. St.

Kailo Moore (Rosedale, Miss./West Bolivar) informed WXVT that, "he's no longer committed" to Mississippi State, and, that the "search is back open." Multiple recruiting outlets also confirmed the news.

Moore, a four-star ESPN 300 running back, now plans to officially visit the Bulldogs on Jan. 18 and Ole Miss on Jan. 25.

Before committing to Mississippi State, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound Moore originally selected Ole Miss in July 2011. He reopened his recruitment following the Rebels' coaching change. This latest decommitment also appears to be fueled by a staff change as former Mississippi State defensive backs coach Melvin Smith, who recruited Moore, has departed for Auburn.

West Bolivar coach Henry Johnson spoke with the Jackson (Miss.) Clarion-Ledger about this aspect of Moore's situation: “Melvin going to Auburn was a big piece of the puzzle. Melvin had a big influence on him. They had established a really good relationship. Even though Melvin wasn’t going to coach Kailo directly at Mississippi State, Kailo felt comfortable going down there to be with him.”

Mississippi State now has 20 verbals after Moore's decommitment.
