Hargreaves ready to get reacquainted

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- With a strong performance at the Under Armour All-America Game this week, five-star defensive back Vernon Hargreaves III (Tampa, Fla./Wharton) would have an opportunity to earn the top overall ranking in the ESPN 150.

However the nation’s top-rated cornerback says he won’t play for rankings, even the one held by Robert Nkemdiche (Loganville, Ga./Grayson).

“No I’m not really into the rankings and you know that,” Hargreaves said. “I only found out I moved up off of Twitter when someone told me. I just want to enjoy the great competition.”

Hargreaves will see several familiar faces when he hits the practice field Monday at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports, as he is one of six Florida commits here. He will also enjoy some familiar competition in the UA Game, which kicks off at 5 p.m. ET Friday live on ESPN from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.

“Yeah, I think I’ve covered every receiver here at one point over the past year,” he joked. “Laquon Treadwell, Stacy Coley ... yes, I see a few familiar faces here.”
