Rams gain defender Kiel Robinson

Senior outside linebacker / defensive end Kiel Robinson (San Marcos, Calif./Mission Hills) pledged Wednesday to sign with Colorado State, according to the Loveland Reporter Herald. He's expected to play OLB for the Rams.

"That 3-4 defense will be good for me," he told the paper. "I like that they're changing their program and adding more players. I like how what their defense changed into and how it's fitting better."

Robinson has already visited New Mexico and has trips planned to Nevada and Colorado in January. San Jose State also offered the 6-foot-1, 191-pounder.

He displayed impressive athleticism this spring at a Nike Combine, registering an electronically-timed 4.72 40-yard dash, 4.34 20-yard shuttle, 26.8-inch vertical and 73.77 SPARQ.

Including their five mid-year signees, the Rams have 18 recruits committed for 2013.
