Three-star inside linebacker Shane Huber (Jersey City, N.J./St. Peter's) is back on board with UMass following a brief decommitment, according to multiple sources.
Huber confirmed the news posting on his Twitter handle @shuber_8, "After re-evaluating my recruitment, I have decided that #UMass is the best possible fit for me and I will be signing my LOI to Umass on feb6."
He originally selected the Minutemen in July but backed off his pledge in December. Earlier this month, he spoke with NJ.com about his reasons for opening up:
"One of the things that have been a little troublesome to me is the lack of support the school had moving to FBS football. It wasn't just something I jumped right into. I talked to all my family and coaches, and I thought it was in my best interest to de-commit and re-open my recruitment. I wasn't feeling 100 percent comfortable. There has been some lack of stability within the program so I just thought I would open it back up and see what happens from here."
Buffalo, Navy, Temple and Central Florida are his other scholarship offers. Boston College, UConn, Rutgers, Virginia and West Virginia recruited the 6-foot-2, 228-pounder earlier in the process.
The Minutemen have 19 verbals for 2013.
