Southfield (Mich.) defensive end Lawrence Marshall either has offers from or is hearing from all of the Midwest’s biggest programs. He took a visit to one Sunday and received a visit from another Monday.
Marshall attended Michigan State’s junior day Sunday, and he said the visit went well.
While on the visit, the 6-foot-4, 205-pound Marshall sat down and talked with several of the coaches. They explained to him how they plan to use him in East Lansing if he commits.
“[It was] about me playing the 9-technique, always playing outside DE,” said Marshall, referring to scheme in which the defensive end lines up wide outside the offensive tackle.
It is the kind of scheme Marshall would like to play in, even if he won’t require that’s how a team uses him.
“I can play in any scheme. It doesn’t really matter,” he said, “but it would be nice to always play outside.”
Ohio State coach Urban Meyer was at Marshall’s school Monday, and since Marshall is a junior the two cannot talk at length. Marshall is planning to call Meyer Monday night, however.
The Buckeyes have offered. Michigan and several other schools have as well.
