Donnie White Jr. flips commitment

De Smet Jesuit (St. Louis) product Donnie White Jr. changed his pledge from Tulsa to New Mexico, according to multiple sources. He officially visited the Lobos on Jan. 11.

White, a three-star prospect, spent some of September on the road, making official visits to Tulsa (Sept. 21) and Boston College (Sept. 28). He later announced for the Golden Hurricane in November.

Arkansas, Arkansas State, Ball State, Miami (Ohio), Western Kentucky and Wyoming also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-2, 220-pound senior. Several other programs, including Arizona State, Cincinnati, Duke, Illinois, Iowa State, Missouri and Rice, showed interest.

ESPN writes in his evaluation, "White has room for improvement both physically and as a player, but the kid has some tools, and with a little more consistency and further development, he could be a productive college defensive end whose strength may be as a pass rusher."

He is now the highest-rated 2013 Lobos verbal.
