UF pledge Grier measures up at Elite 11

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- It’s human nature to measure yourself against your peers, and Davidson (N.C.) Day School four-star quarterback and Florida recruit Will Grier believes he has more than held his own through the first three days of the Elite 11.

“I’m my own biggest critic, so I know I could have done better,” Grier said. “But I think overall, I’ve given my best effort. I definitely belong out here with these guys. But it’s also been a learning process for me, too.

“I’ve learned the mental part is the most important. I think I’ve grown mentally both on and off the field. That’s been the biggest thing. All this mental stuff connects off the field, then you can go out on the field and make it happen.”
