ARLINGTON, Texas – Three-star offensive guard Brandon Fanaika (Pleasant Grove, Utah) on Thursday announced he would attend Stanford.
Fanaika, a 6-foot-3, 320-pound guard, picked Stanford before the start of the fourth quarter of the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl at Cowboys Stadium. He also silenced the rumors of him attending Utah and joining his cousin – and bowl-game teammate – Cedrick Poutasi (Las Vegas, Nev./Desert Pines).
“I love it there,” Fanaika said of Stanford. “I felt it was the best place for me.”
Fanaika chose Stanford over Utah and Auburn. He also had offers to UCLA, BYU, Arizona, Arizona State and Washington, among other schools. Fanaika is ranked No. 4 in the state of Utah and the 37th-ranked guard in the nation.
Fanaika said on Wednesday that he was looking to find a college that would not only challenge him on the football field but also in the classroom.
