Terps steal wide receiver from Marshall

Postgraduate wide receiver Levern Jacobs (District Heights, Md./Milford Academy) has committed to Maryland, multiple sources report.

Jacobs was committed to Marshall as part of the 2012 class after originally signing with the Thundering Herd as part of the Class of 2011. He never enrolled, though, instead taking a postgraduate year at Milford. He was rated a three-star based on junior film but missed most of his senior season due to a torn ACL.

His former high school coach Ed Shields raved about his route-running ability to the Baltimore Sun: "He can go deep or go short and take it the distance. He goes across the middle. He can run any route. I think that's probably what made him appealing for some schools."
